Educational Qualification
The educational qualifications vary for the junior telecom officer posts and assistant director posts.
For assistant director
- Candidate must be retired from the State Govt/Central/Central or state P.S.U.s/ Research organization with at least level 8 grade of 7th C.P.C. in the C.D.A. scale or holding an analogous post or equivalent I.D.A. Scale
- Candidate must have computer knowledge.
- The preference will be given to candidates with a background of working in DoT/BSNL/MTNL.
For junior telecom officer
- Candidate must be retired from the State Govt/central/ Central or State P.S.U.s/Research organization with at least level 7 grade of 7th C.P.C. in the C.D.A. Scale or holding an analogous post or I.D.A. Scale.
- The candidate must have computer knowledge.
- Candidates who have experience working in DoT/BSNL/MTNL are get more preference.
Tenure
After the candidates will recruited on the DOT posts, they will get contracts of 6 months. After completing the 6 months of the contract period, it will be extended up to 6 additional terms. Every term are last for 6 months and extension will depends up on agreement between both parties. The contracts will terminate automatically once the candidate reaches to 65 years old age, no matter how much terms they will complete till this time.

DOT 2024 Remuneration
After the candidates will recruited on DOT vacancies, they will get the fixed monthly remuneration according to Department of expenditure and Department of Telecommunications, and changed from time to time. The remuneration amount are remains fixed for the contract period. Then the remuneration amount will changed and set for monthly basis. There will no percentage increase or annual increment during contract period.
The income tax or other liabilities will be deducted, according to the rules, at the time of payment of remuneration given to employees.
